results of a study for the quantitative evaluation of the
curative value of d. chlorhydrotubocurai-ine ~Burroughs Wellcome
"Tubarine") and galamine triiodoethylate! (Specia "Flaxedil")
in acute radia:~ion sickness based on tYe head-drop test in
rabbits exposed to ionizing ri"adiation (Z-00 r twl-al). The
curarizing
action of Tubarine is slightly lower in irradiated than in
non-irradiated animals --about 7 percent average- while that
of Flaxedil is unchanged.
Includes 14 references, of which 9 are Western.

Abstract : The maximum yield of rice in the lowlands of Kuban
(38.9 centners/heetare) was obtained with inundation.
The irrigating regimen of rice upon periodic irrigation
should be based on practical utilization of water during
phases of its development. The optima.1 moisture of the
soil is 70 to 84 of the field moisture capacity; the
irrigation norms should be figured on humidifying the
soil to a depth of 60 to 80 cm.

Abstract A detailed exposition is given of the agricultural engi-
neering techniques of cultivating potatoes for seed.
In Bulgaria the sick plants are removed, and a mass se-
lection is made of the healthiest and best-developed
plants, during the flowering phase. When thus sorted
out, the material used in planting increases its produc-
tivity by 7-28%. To acquire seed material which is not
affected by virus diseases it shoulabe harvested before
the stem dries; this applies particularly in the case
