SUBJECT: KY-3 Secure Voice Terminals
1. Attached is a listing of KY-3 terminals presently in Agency occupied
buildings located in the Virginia area nearest to Headquarters. These units
are all connected to the Headquarters green-grey switch.
2. This data has been compiled to provide a basis for determining, as
needed, what costs might be incurred by moving any given listed components
KY-3(s) from one building to another, or, what savings could be realized if
said terminals were reterminated on the Headquarters site. Off-setting circuit
costs of any moves to Headquarters will be $30 per month per terWinal plus
some savings in installation costs.
3. Terminal liability on all KY-3 lines in Virginia is set at $1, 110 over
a 5 year period, or $18.50 per month. For example, an additional charge of
$610.50 would be assessed if the CCS/DDP KY-3 in were terminated
1 Feb 1971 (33 mo x 18.50).
4. No attempt is made to determine costs or savings relative to a possible
relocation of NPIC KY-3 terminals as this system is too complex and extensive.
