MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Meeting with Mrs. Harriet F. Bradley, Fairfax County
Supervisor, Drainsviiie Area
On 16 July 1971 I briefed Mrs. Harriet Bradley, Fairfax County
Supervisor for the Drainsville area, on our motor pool and garage
problems and planning. I gave her the history starting with Nash Street
and our approaches to GSA for preliminary design and to NCPC. I
pointed out our understanding that NCPC. would be talking with Mr. Jentsch
and that he had indicated that he would speak to her on the subject. I
told her that we felt that we should advise that we now had the wherewithal
in hand to move on this project given an okay from NCPC and a no
objection posture from Fairfax. I showed Mrs. Bradley the proposed
location and the architect sketches of the area and the building. Mrs. Bradley
seemed very receptive and seemed to appreciate the inefficiences and
annoyances involved In our present motor pool operation. She also
reflected no problem with the proposed structure, its location and our
plans to screen It by shrubbery and trees. She said that she would speak
to Mr. George Lilly, Chairman, Fairfax County Planning Commission,
with whom inevitably Mr. Robert Jentsch (Director, Division of Planning,
Fairfax County) would talk. She felt certain that there would be no Fairfax
objection to our proposal.
