Monitorial/Edi.tori.al staffing has become cons-i.derably- more difficult, especially when other staff members want or need annual or sick leave, Since the departure of STAT During the month., the bureau received and put into use the following equipment: 1 Hewlett-Packard Mdl, 52452 Electronic Counter with.Mdl. 5253B Plug-in Frequency Conversion Module, S/N 960-19660; 1 Hewlett-Packard Mdl. 1220A Dual-Channel Oscilloscope, S/N 1534A-04726. This equipment, though used, replaces- even older equipment which had become obsolete and unusable. In addition, we received: 1 Extel ASR B315PS-8K Teletypewriter Set, S/N 242534. The Extel ASR provides the bureau with necessary backup equipment to pro-- vide for maintenance and trouble shooting, without reducing our punch- ing and sending capability-. The bureau construction project continues to progress normally and on schedule. It is about 40 percent complete at this point. The myriad of minor technical details to be resolved for this project has kept bureau personnel, especially the engineering department, very busy this past month. A great deal of time has been devoted to designing and laying out a logical, sound power and signal distribution system in the future monitoring room. monitor from Panama, completed his 2-mon-STAT TDY on 26 November. monitor from Paraguay, beganSTAT his TDY'on 22 November. The ureau and its staff would like to thank the two bureaus for allowing these fine monitors to be with us. The monitors themselves are to be commended for their high level of com- petence and their willingness to do whatever-might be necessary to accomplish the mission of the bureau.
