APproved For Release 2003/05/27 : CIA-RDP85S00362R0006,00170027-8 MEMORANDUM SUBJECT REFERENCE SECRET FOR: The Inspector General : Revision of NSCID 5 Third Draft Revision a JUN 1957 1. In the course of the preparation of draft revisions of 4SC1D 3. this staff recommended that there be included in that directive pre- visions concerning collection requirements and cover support to this Agency. The final draft of NSCID 1 which is to be reviewed by the IAC does not contain any reference to either of these subjects. 2. It is therefore recommended that the following sentence be added to paragraph 1 of the third draft of SCID 5: "The other Departments and Agencies, on their part, shall assist the Central Intelligence Agency in this tusk with continuous and timely guidance, by specific collection re- quirements and assessments of intelligence infornation collected." 25X1 25X1 In the event that the recommendations for additional changes to iSCID 5 eontained in gy memoranda to you dated 26 April and 8 May are not con- sidered necessary, it is suggested that the paragraph quoted above be- come paragraph 3 of NSCID 5 and that the present paragraph 3 and sub- sequent paragraphs in the third draft be renumbered. 4. During the Fl weekly briefing of General Truzoott on May 29, I discussed the above recommendations. With regard to the reconmenda tion contained in paragraph 2, the General suggested that we attempt to insert the provision on requirements either in WM 3 or NtiCID 5, SECRET Approved For Release 2003/05/27 : CIA-RDP85S00362R000600170027-8 aoe&575--- TS 16657 44-7 Approved For-Release 2003/05/27 : CIA-RDP85S00362R000600170027-8 Ma '4957 NAIOAL SECURITY COUNCIL INZELLIGENCE DIRECTIVI NO.
