MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT ; IAC Agencies Reactions to CIA's Proposal
Regarding Interagency Source Control
Preliminary informal inquiries disclosed that the reactions of
the IAC agencies would probably be as follows regarding: (1) CIA's
draft Interagency Source Control Procedures" and (2) the proposal
for the IPC to handle this matter:
Air Force: Agrees on both counts
Army Agrees on both oounts
Navy ; Opposed to the IPC handling this matter
and, in general, does not see the need
of an Interagency Source Control
State ; Agrees on both counts
JCS ; Probably will agree on both counts
FBI ; Probably will attempt to withdraw
completely from Source Control
activities. Since they also are not
members of the IPC, it is therefore
unlikely that the FBI will object-to the
IPC handling this matter.
AEC Agrees on both counts 25X1A
