Approval of Minutes 11 June Meeting (IAC-M-293) Approved as written. 2. Review of Crisis Situations a. Watch Committee Report No. 358, b. Other Crisis Situations The Chairman and Mr. Cumming commented on recent developments in Haiti, particularly on the question of the extent of any evidence of anti-American sentiment or of other developments inimical to US interests. After General Collins inquired regarding the situation in Syria, the Chairman referred to possible moves by certain left- oriented Syrian elements and the probable nature and purpose of any such moves. Admiral Frost also informed the members briefly on plans for surveillance of Soviet ships sailing from the Black Sea. NIE 100-6-57 Nuclear Weapons Production in Fourth Countries--Likelihood and Consequences Approved as amended. During the course of the discussion of this estimate the members agreed not to include any additional short-form conclusions in the published version of this paper. Mr. Kent also noted that a post-mortem on NIE 100-6-57 would be sub- mitted for consideration at an early IAC meeting.
