"Probable Developments in Taiwan, " from the second quarter of

25X1 from the third quarter to late
second quarter or early third quarter, making the deadline for
departmental 'contributions 1 June unless before then State feels
developments require reexamination of the usefulness of

Matters for NSC Briefing
7. The Director pointed out that the Council is not scheduled
to meet this week but will next week, whereas the IAC is not
scheduled to meet next week. Various members commented on
the situation in Indochina.
Secretary`s Note:
1. All agencies having concurred in the proposed release
of certain NIS elements to OGB (IAC-D-45/54), these NIS elements
were released on 12 April 1954.
2. The Board of National Estimates has recommended the
25X1 non-release to any foreign government of I (Memo to
IAC dated 8 April 1954), and NIE 20-54 (Memo to IAC dated
19 April 1954). These proposals will not be reconsidered except
upon request by a member agency.
