Through Mid-1955) 5. . Action: Agreed to produces, draft, a review of which could determine the scope of the final estimate. 6. Discussion: I pointed out that another estimate, Soviet Bloc Capabilities Through Mid-1955), had originally been designed to include probable courses of action, that this aspect had been excluded by agreement, and that it would therefore be proper to schedule the subject. It was recog- nized that insufficient information upon which to base such an estimate might, on examination, make it desirable to reduce the time period to a one-year basis (i.e., through mid-1951+). Matters for NSC Briefing 7. Discussion: General Willems informed the committee respect- ing G-2's views on recent developments in Laos. Admiral Radford's Comments on 8. Discussion: The Director expressed his encouragement at receiving comments from such consumers as Admiral Radford, and noted the desirability of an IAC response, based on re-examination of the information in the light of the comments.
