Director of Central Intelligence
Thanks for your response to my request for concise information about
what the panel is doing, how well it is doing, and how it might do better.
I am impressed with the scope and quality of the panel's work and particularly
enjoyed meeting with it and my follow-up discussions. with the chairman.
I. think that on the whole-they.have been most useful and perhaps the best
way-,for me to make them more useful will be for me to find more time to
prepare for those meetings. I believe that Julian Nall's work as NIO for
Science and Technology will prepare me better to take part in these meetings
and wil_l.also create a better synergism between the STIC and the STAP.
Your committee, together with Julian and the STIC, can do.a great deal to
help us improve and carry on the good start which I believe has been made in
NIE 11-12.
