This Interagency Intelligence Assessment was requested by the National Security
Advisor to the President. It was prepared under the auspices of the National
Intelligence Officer for Latin America. The Assessment was coordinated at the
working level with the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency,
the National Security Agency, and the Department of State. Information available as
of 2200 hours on 30 October 1983 was used in the preparation of this Assessment.
