MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Central Intelligence
Constantine C. Menges
FROM: Constantine C. Menges
National Intelligence Officer for Latin America
SUBJECT: SSCI Briefing--Suggested Themes
1. In addition to a description of events in Central America today, I
would suggest that our briefing cover two potential negative contingencies
(and I would be willing to do this):
a. The potential connection between events in Central America and
Mexico (see Tab A).
b. The potential consequences for Central America of a termination
of US support for the anti-Sandinista forces (see Tab B).
2. I shall look forward to seeing you at 14:30 today.
