Dear Mr. Langfeld:
Pursuant to your discussion with) my
Office and his meeting with you and other representatives of
the General Services Administration (GSA) on 14 July 19n3, I
wish to make it a matter of record that both G~3A and the
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agree that it is not in the
national interest for this Agency to continue to report data
on real property holdings. It should also be understood that
this does not mean that this Agency will not comply with
Executive Directives and other regulatory requirements related
to space an8 real property. If there are occasions when it
becomes necessary for GSA to have specific information, it can
only be provided on a classified basis to cleared individuals
and when GSA can assure its continued protection of the
material.
As we discussed, it is now important to take action to
remove references to CIA properties from any of your
unclassified files and records. This Office is prepared to
hale you with this task.

in this matter.
