OD'0- ^-; 4 r MAY iS8Z Deputy Director of Data Processing AD?-Related Savings Resulting from Occupancy of New Building 1. in responding to your request for estimated dollar savings resulting from the construction of a new building on the Eeadauartars site, we have assumed that all components presently in leased space would move to the Langley ccoaound. 2. The need for CUP to operate Data Access Centers (DACa) in outlying buildings would be elitainated, thereby freeing up eight outer operator positions (our present staffing lovel is remote DACs). This will save approximately $200,090 in personal services annually. In addition substantial savinc in coz:ttunications costs will he rem ze , the prec_ne dollar value of which can tte est mate y d e Off lee of Ccamzunications. 3. For all tenants in the new building (CDP included), we est!aate a cost avoidance of approximately $2,003 per new tercinal installation resulting from the elimination of the need to T'rl-? T such terminals and provide for their optical ieolation. 4. Less tangible savings but very real benefits accrue frog the improved reliability in the delivery of computer services to a single building. Also, our responsiveness in servicing terninal problems can he improved significantly as a result. O/D/CD?
