Your memorandum SM-643-80 of 12 November 1980 requested that we review the
classification status of six documents selected to become part of the curri-
culum in various psychological warfar?' training operations. We have reviewed
the documents with the following results: (U)
a. 10 August 1967 Fact Sheet, subject: Basic Propaganda Theme, North
Vietnam. CIA has no objection to release in full text.
b. 10 August 1967 CINCPAC message re Resume of Propaganda War as con-
ducted from Hanoi and Pek_iny; CIA has no objection to release in
full text.
c. 21 July 1967 memo for MGEN Depuy, subject: Review of PsyOps in
Vietnam. CIA has no objection to downgrading to CONFIDENTIAL or to
release if the portions higt,1ighted in the attached copy are deleted.
d. Undated "fact sheet" re capability to deliver leaflets in North
Vietnam. CIA has no objection to downgrading to CONFIDENTIAL or to
release if the portions highlighted in the attached copy are deleted.
e. 27 March 1967 MACV memo, subject: Training of Covert Psychological
Operations Personnel. CIA has no objection to downgrading to SECRET
but the document in toto remains classified at the SECRET level.

f. Undated MACSOG Documentation Study re Psychological Operations. CIA
