DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING
WORKING GROUP
The purpose of the Data Collection and Reporting Working Group is to define
the data collection--and reporting requirements necessary for Federal agencies
to ensure an accurate and credible record of energy conservation in the Federal
Government. Activities will include examining the data collection, monitoring
and reporting procedures for existing energy programs, determining the present
costs/benefits of such procedures, the validity/utility of various data pools,
fine-tuning of data collection systems, and promoting the speed and efficiency
of information transfer. The objectives will be to identify, gather, and update
information needed by the Congress, OMB, the President, and DOE to effectively
manage the Federal Energy Management Program. Also, to maintain this information
at DOE so it can be accessed and quickly provided to top level management for
both fiscal and technical decisions.
