MEMORANDUM FOR: Chiefs, Key West, Panama and Paraguay Bureaus
THROUGH: Chief, FEB/ED and Chief/ED

SUBJECT: Agenda for Quarterly Regional Engineer's Trip
During the quarterly regional engineer's visit in March the
following items will be given consideration.
Paraguay
1. Installation of the Watkins-Johnson high speed remote system.
If system has already been installed, check system operation and insure
that all concerned bureau personnel understand its operation.
2. Inspect the recently repaired rhombic antenna that was severely
damaged by high winds.
3. Try to correct problem with the video recording system so that
programs can be recorded in color.
4. Get first hand idea of the reception capabilities of Antelco's
new rotatable log periodic antenna.
1. Visit each remot Incqtin for familiarization with the
telephone remote system. should accompany on trip to STAT
the remote receiver sites.
2. While visiting remote receiver sites look for possible ways to
improve reception.

3. Discuss the possibility or necessity of using telephone fax
equipment to send newspaper articles from the remote sites to the bureau.
If determined desirable and equipment is available for rent locally this
could be tested during the visit to the remote sites.
4. Install and test new Autodin Mode 1 terminal equipment if all
equipment is on site at the time.
Key West
1. Check progress of antenna renovation and assist if necessary.
2. Assist in planning new video distribution system for the
bureau.
3. Inspect the medium wave loop array antenna for the possibility
of reorienting the present loops or installing additional loops.
In addition to the above items the bureau chiefs may have other
items that require attention.
The amount of time spent at each bureau during this tri will be
relatively short because of the necessity to visit all Panama STAT
Bureau's remote receiver sites.
