1. SIGNIFICANCE: PREPARATIONS FOR SS-18 MOD-4 RETROFIT-OF LAUNCH
GROUP B ARE IN PROGRESS. (SWN)
2. REMARKS: APPROXIMATELY 50 VEHICLES ARE PREPARING TO LEAVE THE
FACILITY. THE VEHICLES, IN THREE CONVOYS, INCLUDE FLATBED
TRUCKS CARRYING MOD-4-ASSOCIATED CRATES, CARGO TRUCKS,
HOUSETRAILERE, AND MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT VEHICLES. THE
MOD-4-ASSOCIATED CRATES PROBABLY CONTAIN AIRFRAME/PAYLOAD
INTERSTAGE COMPONENTS WHICH WILL BE USED IN THE RETROFITTING
PROCESS. (SWN)
IN ADDITION TO THE CONVOYS, AN SS-18 PAYLOAD-ASSOCIATED
TRANSPORTER (PAT) IS BACKED UP TO ONE OF THE SE-18 MOD-4
CONTAINERS AND IS PREPARING TO OFFLOAD THE
CONTAINER FROM ONE OF THE RECENTLY ARRIVED THREE-CAR TRAINS.
THE CONTAINER WILL THEN BE FUELED AND MOVED TO ONE OF THE
LAUNCH SITES ONCE THE RETROFIT HAS BEEN COMPLETED. A CAN/CAP
TRANSPORTER (WHICH MAY BE USED TO REMOVE AN SS-18 LOWER
CANISTER DURING THE UPCOMING RETROFIT ACTIVITY IN LAUNCH
GROUP B) HAS BEEN CANVAS-COVERED IN THE RIM FACILITY. ON
RELATING TO THE ARRIVAL OF THE SS-18
