1. SIGNIFICANCE: SS-19 ICBM SILO REFURBISHMENT IS,CONTINUING AT
THE NORTH SILO. (SWN)
2. REMARKS: THE SILO DOOR IS OPEN, AND AN ENVIRONMENTAL
COVER/WORI{ PLATFORM IS IN THE APERTURE. THE FLAME SPLITTER HAS
BEEN REMOVED AND IS ON THE APRON NEXT TO THE SILO. ONE MOBILE
CRANE, ONE HOUSETRAILER, AND SIX SMALL CRATES ARE ALSO ON THE
APRON. A POSSIBLE SS-9 SECOND-STAGE MISSILE TRANSPORTER, WHICH
IS PROBABLY BEING USED AS A TRAILER, IS PARKED NEARBY. THE
REMOVAL OF THE FLAME SPLITTER AND THE PRESENCE OF THE
HOUSETRAILER SUGGEST THAT THIS REFURBISHMENT ACTIVITY, WHICH
HAD BEGUN MAY NOT BE COMPLETED FOR SEVERAL
MONTHS. (SWN)
