1. SIGNIFICANCE: A MOBILE MISSILE CANISTER/TRAINING DEVICE IS IN
THE OPERATIONS AREA OF THIS SS-16-RELATED FACILITY. (TSR)
IMAGERY ENHANCEMENT REVEALS THE
PRESENCE OF BANDING AT SEVERAL POINTS ON THE CANISTER. THIS
BANDING IS SIMILAR TO THE BANDING OBSERVED ON SS-16 AND SS-20
MISSILE CANISTERS. THE CANISTER WAS IN THE SUPPORT AREA ON
(TSR)
PLESETSK MOBILE ICBM FACILITY 1 IS A FORMER ES-7 ICEM SOFT
LAUNCH SITE WHICH WAS CONVERTED IN THE MID-1970'S TO A MOBILE
ICBM FACILITY. THIS FACILITY AND THREE OTHER MOBILE ICBM
FACILITIES AT PLESETSK HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY MAINTAINED SINCE
THEY WERE CONVERTED AND ARE BELIEVED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE
SE-16 SOLID PROPELLANT ICBM. (TSR)
