This report-designed to assist the Intelligence Community in maintaining current and accurate data on electronic warfare order-of-battle in Syria-discusses the operational deploy- ment and probable garrison relocation of an electronic warfare regiment in Syria. One location INTRODUCTION map and one table are included. DISCUSSION 2. Analysis of satellite andl limagery has revealed that the electronic warfare 25X1 regiment previously housed at two installations in southwest Damascus has incrementally vacated these garrisons since April. Elements of the regiment have been deployed in support of the SA-5 complexes at Hims and at Dumayr and in support of Syrian forces along the Golan Heights and in Lebanon. The remaining regimental elements have been relocated to Damascus SAM Site A15-3 55, on the southeastern side of Damascus. The electronic warfare regiment consists of a commu- nications jammin battalion, previously garrisoned at Damascus Southwest Electronic Vehicle Facility 2 and a radar jamming battalion, previously garrisoned at Damascus 25X1 Southwest Electronic Vehicle Facility 1 25X1 Tall Ash Shaar Electronic Warfare Site, on and at Tall Ash Shams Electronic Warfare Site, 3. Elements of the communications jamming battalion were deployed to five locations: to the Syrian-Lebanese border area at Batrunah Electronic Warfare Site, on to Syrian- occupied Lebanon at Anjar AW Radar Facility, on to areas east of the Golan Heights at astern Damascus at amascus SAM Site A15-3 55, on 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 1 25X1 4. Elements of the radar jamming battalion were deployed to four locations: approximately 2 nautical miles (nm) west of Hims SA-5 Complex, on approximately 4 nm north- 25X1 northwest of the Hims complex, on approximate y 4 nm east-southeast of Dumayr SA-5 25X1 Complex, onF--] and to Damascus site 55, on 25X1 5. The following table delineates the electronic warfare equipment at each of the facilities. Equipment Observed Three R-834Ps, two R-934s, one R-834P/934, three R-800 series, and one TWIN BOX Four R-409 CATS EYEs, two R-834Ps, and one TWIN BOX Two R-409 CATS EYEs, one probable R-409 CATS EYE, one R-401/405, and one SPIKE SQUARE Two TURN SERIES vans, four R-409 CATS EYEs, one PAINT BOX set, and 12 KING PIN trailers Two KING PIN trailers with associated R-401 MERCURY GRASS and van trucks One KING PIN trailer with associated R-401 MERCURY GRASS and van truck IMAGERY ANALYST'S COMMENTS 6. Elements deployed to Anjar, Batrunah, Tall Ash Shaar, and Tall Ash Shams provide protection along the western flank of Syria, while elements near Hims and Dumayr provide point defense for the SA-5 complexes. The relocation of both radar and communications jamming equipment to Damascus site 55 suggests that this site may be the new home garrison for the Comments and queries regarding this report are welcome.
