1. SIGNIFICANCE: FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR THE EIGHTH EXPLOSIVE
DEVICE TEST OF 1983 ARE IN PROGRESS AT FACILITY B. (SWN)
2. REMARKS: FOUR CANVAS-COVERED ARCHED SHELTERS HAVE BEEN PLACED
OVER THE TEST DEVICE SUPPORT RACK ON THE WEST TEST PAD AND ONE
VAN TRAILER IS NEARBY. A POSSIBLE CRANE IS JUST EAST OF THE
CANVAS-COVERED ARCHED SHELTERS AND AT LEAST FOUR CRYOGEN
TRAILERS ARE NEXT TO THE APEX BUILDING. THE UNCOVERED
FRAMEWORKS FOR THE CANVAS-COVERED ARCHED SHELTERS WERE PRESENT
ON THE TEST DEVICE SUPPORT RACK
ACTIVITY PROBABLY REPRESENTS SUBSYSTEM DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATED
WITH A DIRECTED ENERGY WEAPONS PROGRAM THOUGHT TO BE IN
PROGRESS AT THIS FACILITY. (SWN)
