SUBJECT: Electronic Printing
1. This memorandum is for your information only.
2. As a result of the Information Handling Task Force report,
as well as several long-range planning papers dealing with the
subject of remote electronic printing and related matters, I
felt it was essential that all interested parties get together to
discuss our mutual concerns in addition to our long-range plans
and goals in these areas. For this purpose, a senior-level

with the establishment of remote printing facilities, i.e.,
availability of funds, staffing, security considerations, inter-
office cooperation, etc., cannot be overstated. I believe, how
ever, that this joint coordinated effort will go a long way in
determining the support mechanisms necessary to provide the type
and quality of services required by Agency users.

3. As a result of these discussions, the group has decided to
explore the feasibility of establishing a remote electronic
printing center in the Building as an initial coordinated
group effort. Since the OL ODP Output Media Working Group is
already a functioning active organization and appears to be
technically qualified to perform such a study, they will be so
tasked in the very near future.
