Approved For elease 2003/11/06 : CIA-RDP84-0093OW00400210015-1 PROCESSING WEEKLY REPORT FOR 16 NOVEMBER 1981 RAMIS Release 2.1 is now running in test mode on the VM and batch systems in GC47. The scheduled production date for this software is December 21. IBM installed a new level of microcode on the 3380 NSA1/A2 controllers on Thursday, 10 December. The microcode is to alleviate the VM system hang problem on restarts and IPLs. The Amdahl 470/V6-2 (SYC) memory upgrade to increase the storage capacity from 4 to 6 megabytes was completed on Saturday, 12 December. The Burroughs B6900 Processor passed acceptance testing on Wednesday, 9 December. The held an open house for employee families on Sunday, 13 December. The Computer Facility was o eor walk through tours and terminal demonstrations. The Ruffing Center had more problems than usual this week. On Thursday, GIMDEV lost 90 minutes due to JES3 ABENDs, and a software trap was set up to held identify the problem furhter. On Friday, GIMDEV lost 82 minutes due to GIMS problems, and 127 minutes more were lost due to Telex disk controller errors. The controller problem also caused all OCR applications a loss of 100 minutes and the Batch system a 60 minute loss. AEGIS also lost: 90 minutes more on Friday due to OCR operational errors. On Monday, a system generation on a COMTEN, with incorrect software, cost OCR 2-1/2 hours. The rest of the week contained many other problems of somewhat lesser severity. The Special Center had a good week with few problems. However, DDOVMP was down for over 3 hours Thursday, due to a bad Telex head-disk assembly (HDA). A problem with another Telex drive Wednesday resulted in a loss of 44 minutes by CAMS. 0 Approved For Release 2003/11/06 : CIA-RDP84-00933R000400210015-1 25X1 Approved Fo;,5elease 2003/11/06 : CIA-RDP84-0093000400210015-1 The Quarterly Supplement for the 4th Quarter of FY-81 is now available and may be obtained by contacting SEB/ED on MPS - A bug has been discovered in the line handler between MPS and Datex which will cause MPS to go into a loop. A fix is being prepared by SPD and will be tested on the pseudo system next week. The fix will be installed after the BDS code is up. TRW and Operations Division personnel are scheduled to meet on Wednesday, 16 December to discuss issues relating to the TRW supplied Operator Training Plan.
