AMPS - TELEX performed maintenance on the SHARE pack drives on Saturday night. Sunday morning, when the drives were returned, two packs, SHARG3 and STORS7 had evidently been destroyed during the maintenance. CSS restored the packs with the last good backup which unfortunately was from early on Saturday morning. It took PCB personnel seven hours to scratch or uncatalog all the data sets necessary to permit AMPS processing to continue. An undetermimed number of cables were lost to AMPS customers. PCB is still in the process of having the cables restored via AMPS/RDF. We have no way to determine what cables the customers lost and we have to wait for them to identify what needs to be retransmitted. All DDO traffic lost cannot be retransmitted by us as their cables Approved For Release 2004/05/05 : CIA-RDP84-00933R000400190034-3 Approved FerwRelease 2004/05/05 : CIA-RDP84-0098000400190034-3 6. VM was halted twice on Friday due to two errors on the same controller. Later, a bad card in the MP caused V.M. to be halted to rebuild SPOOL file chains. Following that, data on the magnetic drum was found to be in error, all of which caused VM four hours of lost time for the day. TADS failed eight times Friday due to CDC disk controller problems and a faulty TADS workstation. TADS continued to fail Monday due to problems with the same controller. The Versatec Plotter has been out of service since Friday. The vendor has yet to respond to service requests. 8. Special Center availabilities were satisfactory for the week. CAMPROD lost 68 minutes Saturday when a mistake was made in transferring it to its backup computer. NIPS lost an hour Thursday due to faulty NIPS software and time spent by SPD in making system changes. STAR lost 1.5 hours Wednesday due to a Telex disk drive problem. 9. was in the hospital for an operation on her ankle and is the proud mother of a seven pound girl. 7=-~ STAT Att: a/s Approved For Release 2004/05/05 : CIA-RDP84-00933R000400190034-3 Approved RWRelease 2004/05/05 : CIA-RDP84-00' 'R000400190034-3 UNCLASSIFIED DDA/ODP SYSTEMS AVAILABILITY SUMMARY MONDAY 11 MAY 1981 THRU SUNDAY 17 MAY 1981 SYSTEM CURRENT WEEK 11 MAY - 17 MAY PREVIOUS 90 DAYS 10 FEB - 10 MAY DIFFERENCE BATCH 99.07 96.45 + 2.62 INTERACTIVE 95.85 95.45 + .40 GIMS 100.00 95.70 + 4.30 CAMS 99.12 97.95 + 1.17 OCR-COLTS 99.84 94.02 + 5.82 OCR-RECON 100.00 93.04 + 6.96 DDO-STAR 99.38 94.64 + 4.74 OSWR-TADS 95.91 96.76 - .85 INTERACTIVE and OSWR-TADS both reported below the goal of 96 percent for the week with each application recording outages due to hardware and software errors. - INTERACTIVE (VM) had 2 hours and 7 minutes of hardware outages and 10 minutes of software errors. - OSWR-TADS experienced 2 hours and 3 minutes of hardware outages and a 12 minute software error.
