Z, Back round: In July 1970 Security Standards for
~~eadquarters 1~ ass Vied Plain Text Data ~}isttibution
Systems ~;pas published far the purpose o# standardizing
anti controlling the installati4on of data circuits in
I~eadquarters Building from a security standpoint. In
many cases, these Standards have not been spplicable in
the T?/ashingtan, D. C. axea agency build3.ngs other than
I~eadf~uaxters; thus, the attached paper has been developed
in cooperation with the Offices of CommunCatians and
Lag istics.
~. Staff Pasitio.;!~ The Offices of ~?curity,
Communications, and Logistics feel that.mQre specific
.rec~uireinents are needed to address the different problems
posed by d~.stribution systems in autstde buildings. The
offices concerned consider the attached proposed Standards
to be an appropriate vehicle to address these problems.
