This memorandum is for your information and action. The action is contained in paragraph 4. 2. Following last Fall Is running of the 100 Universities gram, it became abundantly clear to the Director of Per m el, our Professional Recruiters, and myself that in any. ear in which we are engaged is heavy recruiting the. 100 iversities Program would have to be rep-positioned to a Spring scheduling. October and November are the two most productive campus months on our recruiting calendar; to sacrifice eighteen man .wooke of extremely valuable recruiting time to thin Program this year, or for the foreseeable future, would be imprudent" specially when added to the recruiter t s that goes into the logistical planning of the dates, guess- lists, facilities, itineraaaary, transportation, etc. I estimate that it has been taking two weeks of each recruiter's time to prepare adequately for a one-creek presentation program. L We in no way su> gest that this program be abolished, but, rather, that it be reset in the context of the aid-March to early-.M*y period, after after the recruiters have wound up their intensive campus efforts. We believe the presentations themselves will have the mane favorable impact regardless of timing. 4. We ral be planning now, however, for the timely selectiu and briefing of the senior Agency officials who will be engaged in this year's program. I submit therefore for ydNr ?onsi k- at a and approval the following names, wise .fhc advice, of course, that you may wish to add others to" bts list but leave to the J dgment of the Director of , tunnel and myself the pairings of speakers, recruiters, sod DCS representatives., We would plan to use sixteen /1QN (~ Heuer Excluded 1:31. a:temaaic E N T I AL d Qed~ ny Ng a Approved For ase 0 3/04/29: CIA-RDP84-00780R0023001 004iw r 25X1 Approved For Release 2003/04/29 : CIA-RDP84-0078OR002300180050-5 Approved For Release 2003/04/29 : CIA-RDP84-0078OR002300180050-5 Approved For Rel 1 s-hH;~ 1 H'tL-RDP84-0078OR002300180050-5 6. This would be very helpful, and, needless to say, will be held in the strictest confidence. 7. We try to reach an many new colleges and universities as possible before rebooking schools already visited. Thus far, we have made presentations at 227 different institutions: 104 in 1963, 79 in 1964, and 44 in 1965; this breakdown speaks of the initial visit. The record of repeat visits is as follows: Boston College 1963 and 1964 Hobart & William Smith Colleges 1963 and 1965 Indiana University 1964 and 1965 New York State University 1963 and 1964 Northwestern University 1963 and 1965 Oregon State University 1963 and 1965 Pennsylvania State University 1963 and 1964 Princeton University 1963 and 1965 Purdue University 1963 and 1965 St. Louis University 1963 and 1965 Stanford University 1963 and 1964 Syracuse University 1963 and 1965 University of Chicago 1963 and 1964 University of Kansas 1963 and 1965 University of Massachusetts 1963 and 1965 University of Minnesota 1963 and 1965 University of Missouri 1963 and 1965 University of Oregon 1963 and 1965 University of Pennsylvania 1963 and 1965 University of Rhode Island 1964 and 1965 University of Washington 1963 and 1965 Washington University 1963 and 1965 Wesleyan University 1963 and 1965 Yale University 1963 and 1965 Deputy Director of Personnel for Recruitment and Placement Approved For ReleasEF4 ENiI h84-00780R00 GROUP 1 - Excluded tro,n automatic ?7"r-1n; and STATINTL Approved For Release 2003/04/29 : CIA-RDP84-0078OR002300180050-5 Next 2 Page(s) In Document Exempt Approved For Release 2003/04/29 : CIA-RDP84-0078OR002300180050-5
