SUBJECT : Delegation of Authority for Short Term Extensions -
CIA Retirement and Disability System
I I. It is my understanding that In your meeting with Col. White
on 6 September, he asked for more information before granting an
approval to the extension of your delegation of authority to continue
persons beyond the mandatory retirement age. I would appreciate your
confirming this understanding.
2. 1 also have a note to the effect that it is the desire of the
Executive Director-Comptroller that all participants whose creditable
service is based on domestic duty be approved by the Director of Central
Intelligence. The Director would hope thereby to get a feeling for the
criteria applied by the Board. I would suggest that this be discussed at
an early Board meeting.
