Approved For Release 2002/11/2Sf84-00780R001U0P MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Finance S EP 15 1966 Attached are some statistics drawn from an IBM listing as of May 1966 showing the number of members of your Career Service, by grade, who hold college degrees and those who do not. Mr. Bannerman would like to discuss this with you at the time he goes over your-Executive Inventory. It's recognized that many individuals in the lower grades are clerical or technical rather than professional, but the machine cvuldzn't sort them out. Similarly, the listing couldn't distinguish those who may have attended college for a period of time but not long enough for a degree. If you have any questions on any of the data, I'll be glad to try answer them. 25X1 Att: "Finat' ce Careerists" Distribution: Orig - Adse w/cc of att -?-DD/S Subject w/O of att 4 w/ 1 - DD/S Chrono esq. Appro ved Foi Release 2002 RDP84-00780ROO1400020014-2 14 September 1966 I agree with we must face the reality that we cannot bring graduate accountants in and expect them to do FPA or payroll work. The alternatives are: a. To send our payroll-type clerks to school for advancement. b. To hire clerks for clerical /finance jobs, and college-trained accountants for professional jobs. Same applies to Logistics.
