Flemming Awards (2) William A. Jump Memorial Award (3) National Civil Service League Career Service Award (4) Federal Woman's Award (5) Federal Government Accountants Award (6) National Capital Award (7) Horace Hart Award (8) Paperwork Management Award 1. Your nominations for the public service awards, listed above, are requested. The attached pamphlet which supplements I Public Service Awards, was prepared to assist you in selecting potential candidates for the 1966-67 awards. This pamphlet lists 1965-66 awards winners and the names of all Agency officers previously selected as candidates for these awards. 2. We are initiating the candidate-selection procedure early this year so we can submit to the Director in August a slate of candidates for all of the 1966-67 awards. Selecting the Agency candidates for these awards simulta- neously rather than waiting until the announcement of each awards program is received will avoid the problems we have had in the past in meeting the deadline dates for submission of nominations to the sponsoring organizations. Nominating the candidates for all the awards at one time is the same procedure we use in selecting Senior Officer School candidates, and it should make our public service awards program more effective. The services of the Office of Personnel will be made available to you if you need assistance in identifying individuals who are eligible to compete for these awards. 3. It is requested that you screen potential candidates in your area for each of the awards, listed above, and submit to me the names of your nominees on or before 1 August.
