-, An z I Approved For Release 2003 39x: CIA-RI P84-00780 R001300030011-5 2 2 MAR 1966 MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Support I have reviewed the Eyes Only paper you sent to me yester- day on the Data Processing Personnel Problem. No purpose would be served in a counter-refutation of the arguments made in that paper, though I might enjoy debating with its author. If you and the DD/S&T also agree with the proposal in para- graph 8, we would be happy to have Mr. 0 take on the job. We would ask Mr. also to make a contribution as he has well underway even now an analysis of the Agency's structure in this field--identifying all the places where we find machines or people. I would urge, however, that we add one more member to the task force to represent the DDI, for NPIC is not the only component of that Directorate concerned with computer- driven systems. I think that under the circumstances that F__ I the Personnel Officer in Jack Smith's office, would be the logical man. I have not discussed this with Mr. 0 and will await doing so until I have had word from you. 25X1 25X1 Acting Director of Personnel Approved For Release 84-01062"'l;5$0011-5 Approved For Release 2003/04/29: CIA -FAO 84-09 80 00130 0' 0 1i a r >.' q~. rev FOR RELEASE: ADVANCE F'.-R FRIDAY FORNING NEWSPAPERS NOT TO BE USED BY PRESS, RADIO, OR TV BEFORE 6:30 P.M., EST, THURSDAY, MARCH 17, 1966 Federal agencies plan to fill more than a thousand jobs in automatic data processing this year, the U.
