DESCRIP'lURS: 'Chemical indicators, Dyes,
*Vandium compounds, Complex compotmda. Volurnei
analysis, EthylewdinitrUo tetracetate.
Quinque,,-alenL vanadium is displaced from its EDTA
complex by almost all ions which react wirb EDTA. The
liberated vanadium can then give color reactions with
many dyes, and this can be used to indicate the end-
point in a complexomerric titration. Many Indicator
systems can be devised on this basis, and the present
paper deals with systems, containing vanadium". EDTA
and diphenylcarbazone, pyrocatechol violet, carminic
acid or morin. (Author)
