SUBJECT: Nomination or for the National
Capital Away
1. The Agency has been invited to nominate a staff member as a
candidate for the National Capital Award sponsored by the D. C. Council
of Engineering and Architectural Societies and the Washington Academy
of Sciences. Awards will be ;given to three individuals in the Metro-
politan Washington area in recognition of notable achievements in the
fields of architecture, engineering, and applied sciences and will be
presented to the selected candidates 25 February 1960 as a part of
nationwide observance of Engineers Week.
2. The Deputy Directors were notified of the opportunity of nom-
inating candidates for this award. The Deputy Directors (Intelligence)
and (Plans) did not submit nominations. The Deputy Director (Support)
has identified a contract employee in the Office
of Logistics, as a q i Re can te. The s ecific achievement which
is the basis for the proposea nomination o is described in
the attached memorandum from the Acting Director of Logistics.
3. The nomination of is submitted to the members of the

that the Director nominat as the Agency candidate for this
