SUBJECT: DCI Weekly Report
1. Public Affairs Division
Visiting Group: On Friday, 5 November, students from Haverford and
Bryn Mawr Colleges will be briefed at Headquarters by Maurice Ernst,
NIO for Economics, an Chief, Recruitment Division.
Media Events: On Sunday, 7 November, Parade Magazine will publish a
story by Tad Szulc quoting an alleged CIA report saying that the
Soviets have penetrated the sophisticated Cray-1 computer system at
Redding, England which took place through the USSR's membership in
the International Institute for Advanced Systems Analysis in Vienna.
2. Legislative Liaison Division
Nothing significant to report.
3. Coordinator for Academic Affairs
(OEA/DDI) is scheduled to make an oral presentation 25X1
on the "Slow Growth of Labor Productivity in Chinese Industry 1952-
1981" at the 52nd Annual Conference of the Southern Economic Association
in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, 11 November.
I (SOVA/DDI) arescheduled to attend 25X1
a seminar on the "Energy in the Soviet Union" sponsored by Harvard
University's Russian Research Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts on
Monday, 8 November.
