- A "Yellow Rain" type of mycotoxin biological warfare sample, called T2, has been
discovered for the first time in Afghanistan on a as mask returned from the field.

Directorate for Administration
- The Office of Security's Polygraph School commenced operation on 1 November as
scheduled; four students are enrolled in the three-month course dealing with basic
polygraph techniques.
The Countering Terrorist Tactics Course #3-83 began on 31 October
the Clandestine Operation-, Fgmilinrigugfin -1 urse #1-83 ended on
29 October
- There were approximately 2,300 visitors at the Headquarters Building during Family
Day.

Deputy Director for Intelligence
- EURA, at DDCI request, prepared a typescript for Under Secretary Eagleburger on the
Yugoslav financial situation.
- OEA prepared a short analytical memorandum for the DDCI to forward to Under
Secretary Eagleburger on the status and implications of Sino-Soviet relations.
OGI officials met with the PFIAB staff to discuss Agency work on international finance
and related matters.
National Intelligence Council
- C/NIC attended a CNO Executive Panel session on possible Soviet responses to the U.S.
Navy's ability to attack SSBNs.
- NIO/SP along with C/NIC received a SAC briefing from Gen. Fornell on 4 November on
the Air Force's recommendations to Secretary Weinberger on the basing of the MX
missile. (The DCI will receive the same briefing on 17 November.)
- NIO/USSR attended a meeting at State Department on Yugoslavia. The Department's
concern about situation there parallels our own and they are going to call an IG
meeting to develop policy to help Yugoslavia in its present strains. NIO/USSR
mentioned that the Community would be doing a special estimate on Yugoslavia.

- Preliminary discussions with Congressional staffs indicate they dp not have any sarious
problems regarding our impending need to reprogram 1983 funds 25X1
building. A background paper was provided to the staffs outlining requirements, costs,
etc., and indicating we would identify sources of funds in a formal reprogramming
request.

National Intelligence Emergency Support Office
On 29 October briefed the Secretary of the Air Force Vernon Orr, and the
Air Force Chief of Staff, General Charles Gabriel, Major General Marks
and members of his staff also attended the briefing.
