DCI WEEKLY REPORT
Audit Staff:
Inspections:
Survey of Staff Applicant Processing Procedures: We briefed the DDCI, the
Executive Director, and the Director of the Office of Personnel on our findings.
We will also brief the DDA on 6 December. The draft report will be sent to the
Office of Personnel, Office of Security, and Office of Medical Services for
review early this coming week.
NPIC Inspection: A draft report should be ready for my initial review in
two weeks.
Office of Finance: We will also launch this inspection next week.
Wilson/Terpil: We continue to respond to queries from Tom Latimer, HPSCI
Staff Director.
Latimer called me to say that he wants to brief me on what he has learned
from the Wilson/Terpil affair about the Agency's Inspector General role.

-- FY 1983 Appropriation. The House Appropriations Committee completed
markup of the FY 1983 Defense Appropriations Bill. The Bill was amended
in Full Committee to provide funds to cover the Agency's FY 1983 pay
costs resulting from the October 1982 federal pay raise which were
inadvertently omitted during Subcommittee deliberations. Current plans
call for floor action by the House on 7 December, followed by action in
the Senate on their Bill 8 December. Conference is now planned for the
week of 13 December.
-- FY 1984 Budget. Directorate FY 1984 Congressional Budget submissions
are due on 8 December. We are still planning to complete the Agency's
Congressional Budget submission by early January.
-- Space Requirements. The House Appropriations Committee after further
