SUBJECT: Invitation to Speak - American Legion Department of
Colorado POW-MIA Committee
1. Action Requested: Sign attached letter of regret.
2. Background: The POW-MIA Committee of the Colorado American
Legion has invited you to_be keynote speaker at the Colorado Legion's
annual convention, 25-26 June.
Our position on the POW-MIA issue in recent months has been to
defer comment to DoD (specifically the Air Force), whose account it is.
CIA's public position has been limited to the fact that we continue to
cooperate with DoD to the fullest extent possible. In view of this, even
if the forum were worthy of an investment of your time, recommend you
decline.
