Body:
9 February 1982 The Honorable William J. Casey Director of Central Intelligence Washington, D. C. This is in response to your kind note from the 25th of January which only reached me today. The reason for the delay in receipt was that it was sent to the address of the home we have purchased but which we are not-occupying until the 11th of this month. Thank you very much for your kind words about the paper on our propaganda posture. It was written for the specific purpose of providing Ambassador Burns with some background on that parti- cular problem. I am delighted that the thoughts expressed there- in correspond to some extent with your own. I would be vear pleased to have the opportunity to talk with you and your associates at any time at your convenience after the 17th of February. I am involved in real estate closings on the 11th and the 15th of this month. After that I am free to meet any date of your choice. I will take the liberty to telephone later today to enlist his assistance in working out the appointment with you and the administratige arrangements. I agree with Ambassador Burns' sentiments that people of my age should not retire. Without any false modesty, I think many such retirements represent unnecessary waste of qualifications and experience, myself included. I assure you, I did not wish to retire and would be pleased to come back to work. Perhaps we can talk about this when I see you. Thomas Polgar 101 vt
