We have no information to indicate that the International
Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is
a Communist Front organization. Neither could we find any
derogatory information on any of its six officers listed in
the 1981 Yearbook of International Organizations. However,
though the majority o its a i i~ aces ar e from non-Communist
countries, it does have members from Albania, North Korea,
Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, the
USSR, and Yugoslavia. It is presumably for that reason that
its yearly Council meetings are sometimes held in Eastern
Europe; e.g., Budapest in 1972, Strbske Pleso (Czechoslovakia)
in 1978, and Leipzig in 1981.
