Gerrard Oak Ridge National Laboratory* Scientific Russian articles are translated at Oak Ridge National Laboratory on a regular basis. User reaction is favorable. The machine dictionary is updated frequently, and fields other than the original chemistry of the dictionary are being included. Training of key-punch operators is not difficult, and present costs are comparable with those of human translation. The greatest problem is legibility of the Russian copy with which we are supplied by requestors. *Operated by Union Carbide Corporation, Nuclear Division for the Energy Research and Development Administration HY accoptance of this article, the puhlishe, or recipient acknowlodges the U S.
