1, The Director and the undersigned met vi th and STATOTHR
his attorney, on 11 April 1975, incicated that STATOTHR
Ito had considered various aspects of the :law relating to Agency physical
surveillance of in 1971. He indicated that the law was so ne-
-,vhat cloudy, although possibly they could get an injunction. He then
stated possibly their objectives could be reached in some other way.
2, 0 stated that I kvould like to review his file. Mr. . Colby
indicated immediately that in the previous interview with I TATOTHR
had stated he would like to look at the file, the Director's response at that _
time had been he would prefer not. The Director then stated that we would
certainly permit II to review it, He pointed out, however, that we would
have to review it for classified information, to delete names of Agency employees
concerned and also would have to review it from the standpoint of not invading
the privacy of any third party. I I asked specifically about photo-
graphs and was told that these wo-Ldd be made available. The Director not
only offered to let him review the file, he stated he would send him. copies
of those items which could be made available. was most apprecia.tiveSTATOTHR
and stated he would prefer to pick them up himself,
3, The second matter raised by II was an inquiry as to whether
this file would be passed to the Rockefeller Commission and the Select Com-
mitties of the Congress investigating the Agency. The Director said he would
resist this most vigorously. i lasked if the Director were pressed on
this could they be advised, since they would like to make their own efforts
to prevent the file being transm.tted, The Director agreed to this.
