I. Referent memorandum r yaps the course for a smaller CIA
Historical Program with focus upon situatioral histories rather than
component or station histories. Proposed topics, one relating to the
Support Directorate, are listed in the attachment.
2. We are invited to suggest other topics which may be appropriate
for development of histories treating "situations in which the Agency has
provided significant support to U. S. policy or other topical subjects
involving major support to intelligence programs". Please provide me
any thoughts you may have on this subject by 5 January 1973.
