MEMORANDUM FOR: Executive Director-Comptroller
SUBJECT: Quarterly Report of Historical Staff
Overt Directorates: While PPB has been reviewing the
25X1A9a proposed project, has been exploring the program
with the directors es, most thoroughly with DDI. He has
encountered no reluctance to participate but one query as
to the authority for the program. We shall in due course
propose an official Notice by way of authority.
Clandestine Services: DDP continues to increase sup-
port for the program. The five members of this Staff
devoted to CS history have in effect been augmented by
the allocation of a secretary/research assistant position
to the CS Historical Board. DDP space in the headquarters
building has been found to accommodate this secretary and
three of the five officers assigned to Addicott from
"developmental complements." Two summer employees have
been assigned to the staff. It has been established that
each division and staff may have as many as three con-
current contracts for history writing. Listings of
current and cumulative production are attached.
