Previously authorised construction of a club-shelter building, abarrack for housing of natives, a Storage space, digging of a well and fencing in the operations area is in the final planning stage with FEC end the Twentieth Air Force providing contract administrative support and inspection. 2. A new project to cover construction on Okinawa of eight typhoon-proof, three-bedroom, single family houses has been submitted. The Voice of America has agreed to incorporate this construction with their own housing construction on Okinawa. This will permit use of the same labor force for both projects and relieve FBID of the burden of administering the contract. 3. The land appraisal project for the new West Coast Bureau site ' is in the hands of Administrative Services. Representatives of Admini" etrative Services and FBID will shortly aecompany appraisers from San Frandisco to the ate area where requirements will be defined, appraisals cendutited, and atatements of interest obtained from the land owners. Based on this survey, a project will be sutatitted for the pro.. curementof land, either by outright purchase or lease. 4. The D.C. Ramblers Motorcycle Club has renewed efforts to obtain a permit for construction of a motorcycle racetrack adjacent to the East Coast BUrtlft site. Representativea of FBID and Administra- tive Services have discussed the problem of encroachment with the president of the Prince George's County Board of Commissioners end have set forth the Agency's strong opposition to this proposal. A letter to the Board President is being prepared which will further define the Agency's position. The question of State Department post-treaty support for the FBID Tokyo Bureau after the removal of FEC installations was discussed with Mr. Mlles, Director of the Executive Staff of the Intelligence ? Director, Department of State.
