Chief, Budget Division was similarly briefed on the IRM
proposal, 18 April.
On 22 April senior officers of the Agency headed by the
DD/S received a briefing; on the Stenowriter/MT system froir} IBM 25X1A
at the itilatson Research Center in Yorktown Heights,. New York.
On 29 April, Messrs, visited
Chief, Support Branch, FDD fora rie zng on t e tenowriter system.
Their interest was in the promised speed of the Stenowriter compared

3. The Division effort to maintain adequate coverage of an
incr.easi.ng number of source publications from the Latin American
area has been additionally strained by a recent heavy inflow of
Cuban provincial press sources. The receipt of a number of specific
requirear~ents, over and above the established and. cantinuing program
of reporting on Latin America, ha.s also over burdened existing
exploitation facilities, Such requa.rements have been levied by
DDP; e.g., information on dissidents in the Cuban armed forces,
Cuhan recruitment of foreign technicians; State Department, informa-
tion on Latin American Ma Day visitors to the Sino-Sov' t Bloc;
