Below is a translation of the pertinent portions of issue No.1 of a newsletter
published by the Frente Popular Anti-Cotmznista del Estado Libre y Soberano de
la Baja California, Caile 1-a, 16921. Tijuana, Baja Cfaj
For present information and future reference, I wish to present the names of
the persons in this State who have conducted themselves as COMMUNISTS:
Lauro Gutierrez, one-time Partido Popular candidate for senator, and
correspondent for A B C of Mexicali.
Ramon H Hernandez, another PP member; expelled from the US; lives near
Mexicali; known rural agitator.
Manuel Guerena Valle, municipal delegate in Campo Delta, Valle del Mexicali.
Lie. Jose Cruz Palacios, deputy who on 7 Aug 54 had a secret conference with
Dionisio Encina on organizing a Baja California delegation to the 12th
national congress of the Partido Comunista de Mexico.
Dr Francisco Duenas Montes, director of the normal school, high employee of
the state government and director of the Coalition Revolucionara.
Raylundo Verde Sosa, known agitator who enjoys the favor of the present state
government.
Lie. Leonardo Sosa y Silva, secretary general of the Coalicion Revolucionaria;
state assessor; brother-in-law of 8 Governor Maldonado; has just been named
director of the Mexicali Preparatory School.
Luis Argot, auditor in the offices of the Ferrocarril Inter-California, and
leader of the Coalition Revolucionaria.
Josue Molina Carrillo, delegate to the state social planning board, and a leader
of the Coa.licion Revolucionaria.
Prof. David Vargas Tapia, high employee of the Mexicali city government and a
C R leader.
Prof. Eduardo Miramontes, former Chief of investigations who has since gone to
another state post; active in C R.

Bassols; Maldonado's and the CR's control of the Grupos "Pro-Hogar"
by promising them urban lots and rural tracts]

There follows a plea for anti-Communist support of the Frente's activities
in the Valle de Mexico in which the Frente's president is identified as
Eduardo Sesma Coronado.!
