Saturnino Ruano and Lie, Ysidro Lemus, from Guatemala, both believed to be Communistically inclined, were seen in New Orleans together recently Early 195 with a New Orleans resident believed also to be Communistically inclined, and one Roberto Bianchi,, a resident of Guatemala characterized by the source as "likeable, unstable, and having marW connections". Roberto Bianobi is the son# of Dr. Julio Bianchi, Minister of Public Health in the first cabinet under President Arevalo, who was exiled to Ventura, California, for , rumored to be one of 12 years; the cousin of Alfonso Martinez , the assassins of Colonel Javier Arana; the husband of a Honduran girl; and the brother-in-law of Roberto Fan Jul., who is now in exile in Mexico and who married Roberto Bianchits sister and was Minister of Economy, under ex-President b nz. Guatemalan Communists, maries inknown, now"&xile in Mexico City are rumored to have met with the above four persons in New Orleans during the greater part of January 1955. 25X1 X6 2. Alfredo Castaneda, the kingpin of the pro-Communist pilots of the Empress Guatemalteca de Aviacion (Aviateca) while ex-President Ar*enz was in power, is believed to have smuggled about 500 small arms from New Orleans to Guatemala, a few at a time, on his regular freight run. During August 1954, while Colonel Rosendo Pere+was in charge of the Bananera area? 10 anti-Communists who had joined the Communist Perty .f behalf of the United Fruit Company were executed, During the month of October 1954, 50 more at Tiquisate were executed by Colonel Rosendo Perez. During the intervening period 100 more were executed in scattered areas of Guatemala. All those killed were anti-Communists who had joined the Communist Party because the United Fruit Company desired some knowledge of its plans, and all those executed were, known to the executioners as anti-Communists.
