( outside Uzbek restaurant, just as they do in Central Asia. The caps
they are wearing are called tybitekas and the pattern indicates the
city or region from,which the wearer comes. These are Uzbeks from
Tashkent. Their tybitekas are black with a stylized white cotton
boll embroidered on them.

by the score, by the hundreds come to the ancient Troitza Lavra, or
Trinity Monastery, one of the most ancient shrines of the Russian
Orthodox church.
The monastery, founded by St.Sergius sixhundred and teentYfour

operated by the municipality, to which collective farmers' are now
being greatly encouraged to bring their surplus Produce for sale to
the townsneonle. There are also 19 open markets in Kiev and a new
covered market is being built. The present one is on a main square
in the center of the city. All around the outside of the market are
Soviet state stores that sell goods to the farmers.

the covered market, it has state shops around the outside. Behind
those shops is the market place.
