Ilse Polish side was marked Poland and the Czechoslovak side was labeled Czechoslovakia. In Southern Poland it was understood that the high hills were the boundaries between the two countries. I can recall no special markings or boundary lines, particularly around Jelerda Gora near Hierberg apparently Hierberg :is the former German city of Hirschberg in f;chlesie~. Soldiers (guards) were used on the roads between the two countries. Barriers which were placed across these roads could be raised and lowered to permit or deter vehicular traffic from eros~sing to either country.
