The following information was excerpted from statistics on steam
locomotives of the Ministry of Traffic in April 1955:
a. Hauls by locomotives:
21,038 km travelled
11,141 nillion ton/km hauled.'
b. Coal consumption by locomotives:
Hard coal 124,789 tons
Brown coal dust 13,801 tons
Brown coal briquettes 405,088 tons
bolawCgoal 89,957 tons
Alurry 924 tons
Total in briquette units (HU) 642,981 tons.2

I, Target figures for hauls by locomotives in 1955 obtained at the Ministry
of Traffic. The tabulation also includes the fulfillment figures for
January through April 1955. The figures express million ton/km hauled.
The expression grenzaenderung (change of boundaries) refers to the change
of RBD-boundaries which was effective on 1 January 1955.3 The figures
of actual hauls between January and April fluctuate only slightly from
data on locomotive hauls during that period reported previously.
Comment. Compared to March 1955. total ;7 April decreased
slightly.
